Welcoming Anna Valentine-Marsh to the Team!
Anna joins the team as the Co-ordinator for our Reminisces projects. Taking over the existing project Forget Me Not from Gill Amos and starting up a new project ‘The Seaton Seaside’ Reminiscence project.
Here, Anna talks about her background and what she’s looking forward to in her new role.
‘I worked as a teacher and lecturer in theatre specializing in community theatre, event management and drama therapy. Alongside my teaching I worked as a theatre designer and director often working with individuals with additional needs and managing the two theatres on campus. My work has also enabled me to manage and perform in reminiscence events, a job I loved. My experience will allow me to bring creativity, organisation, therapeutic understanding and a little theatrical flair to the projects!'.
The newly formed Seaton Seaside Reminiscence Project is progressing well. We've met with some fantastic partners, including Seaton Tram Way, Seaton Jurassic, The Gateway Theatre, Seaton Library, The National Trust, Exeter University local memory cafe's and schools as well as artists, musicians and dementia professionals. All of whom are keen to work with us take part in the project.
We’ll be holding a series of events between January of 2019 and the end of August 2019 inviting and encouraging participants to share and create memories of Seaton and the surrounding areas, so watch this space for more details!
