Who we work with

At Action East Devon we work with more than 530 community and voluntary groups and around 10,000 individuals and we set a high value on our place in the local community.

We collaborate with people who share our commitment to working with East Devon's diverse population to identify their needs and help them develop their own solutions. We have a strong track record of working in partnership with stakeholders across the voluntary and public sector in our local area. We work at a local level bringing people together through our forums and networks. We represent East Devon's communities and the voluntary sector at a range of strategic events, partnerships and through consultations.

Some of the types of organisations we work with in the delivery of our services:

Community health services (e.g. GPs, CAHMS, CCG, health providers, local Hospitals etc.), Social Care (e.g. Devon County Council, Care Direct)

Local Government (East Devon District Council, town and parish councils, Devon County Council and the Exeter Growth Point Team)

The voluntary and community sector (for example as part of the Carers Plus Consortium), Housing associations e.g. Devon and Cornwall Housing

Private sector providers (e.g. Care Homes),

Charitable Trusts,

Devon and Cornwall Police.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue - Action East Devon are local partners of the Fire Service through its home checks programme.

Below is an example of how we work collaboratively across Devon to bring together networks of individuals, groups and organisations to create a stronger, local voice.

Westbank

We work with Westbank, through the Carers Plus Consortium to provide support to carers across Devon.

Devon Voluntary Action (DeVA)

Action East Devon is one of six member organisations that forms part of Devon Voluntary Action (DeVA) - a partnership that provides comprehensive support to Devon's voluntary and community sector through collaboration.

We, as a partner of DeVA, have come together to promote and support thriving, vibrant and healthy communities across Devon, by harnessing our collective knowledge, skill and experience of the voluntary and community sector.

The DeVA partnership consists of:

  • Action East Devon
  • South Hams Community and Voluntary Services
  • Involve Voluntary Action in Mid Devon
  • Teignbridge Community and Voluntary Services
  • North Devon Voluntary Services
  • West Devon Community and Voluntary Services

DeVA is a partner in the Devon Engagement Service which provides a central point of contact for health and social care commissioners in Devon to engage with people around the design and development of local services to ensure they meet the needs of those who are affected by any changes.
